The foundation for RAG in Moodle
The RAGflow AI provider is the backend of the RAGflow Moodle Suite. It plugs into Moodle’s native AI subsystem and handles the connection, the chat engine, source citations and a secure download proxy — the other plugins (Tutor, Search, Helpdesk) build on it and are installed first.
Connects Moodle’s AI subsystem to your self-hosted RAGflow instance — answers from your own content, with sources.
Once configured (base URL + API key), grounded, cited answers anchored in your documents are available everywhere — in the user’s language, with optional long-term memory. RAGflow reads the content of your documents, scans, images and tables included (OCR, layout and image understanding), not just plain text; citations come from the documents the model actually cited, not from a blind similarity search.
Free and open-source (GPLv3). Requirements: Moodle 5.0–5.2 and a reachable RAGflow instance that you host yourself — your data and your choice of AI models stay under your control.
